Trying to determine the best Pokemon team in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is likely a mistake, given that every trainer has their own definition of “best.”
However, we are not shying away from the debate as we have already discussed the best Dark and Water-type Pokemon.
Some trainers choose to create a visually appealing party, while others prefer a mix of types, and some stick to just one type. With so many possibilities, this question can be quite complex.
Nonetheless, as someone who has spent many hours battling through Paldea, I feel qualified to weigh in on this topic.
To ensure fairness for all players, regardless of the version they play, I will not include version exclusives in my team.
1. Tinkaton
I couldn’t create this guide without including Tinkaton – a Pokemon that can really pack a punch! As a Fairy/Steel type, Tinkaton boasts more type advantages than disadvantages, with its only weaknesses being Fire and Ground types.
However, what really sets Tinkaton apart is its Gigaton Hammer move, a powerful Steel type attack that deals 120 damage. Although it can’t be used consecutively, its other moves such as Play Rough are strong enough to make up for it, making Tinkaton a formidable opponent.
2. Kilowattrel
For those of us who rely on type advantages and disadvantages, using Electric moves against Flying types is a no-brainer. However, with Kilowattrel, that strategy is rendered ineffective.
As an Electric/Flying type, Kilowattrel is immune to Electric moves, forcing you to switch up your tactics.
While Rock type moves can be effective against Kilowattrel, its impressive Speed Stats make it a formidable opponent.
While Kilowattrel may not be the strongest Electric/Flying type out there, it can definitely throw your opponents off their game with its unique typing.
Additionally, with its impressive Speed and Special Attack Stats, Kilowattrel is not to be underestimated.
3. Arcanine
When it comes to Fire-type Pokémon, Arcanine is a top contender. This fluffy yet fierce-looking creature boasts great stats that make it an ideal companion, particularly during Double Battles.
What sets it apart is its Wild Charge move (taught by TM147), which gives it an Electric advantage.
While it may not be as strong as Flareon in terms of stats and moveset, Arcanine is an excellent choice for its defensive capabilities, making it a strategic choice when facing off against Gym Leaders.
4. Palafin Hero Form
You might already know that Palafin, the evolution of Finizen, has a unique Hero Form, but what you might not know is that this form is not just for show.
If you haven’t already caught Finizen, it’s time to do so. When Palafin is switched in during battles, its Zero to Hero Ability triggers, transforming it into a powerhouse with an impressive 160 Attack Stat and a devastating Water type move called Jet Punch.
However, be mindful that it won’t transform if it’s sent out as your lead Pokemon. With Palafin’s Hero Form, you have a solid Water type that can dominate battles.
5. Slaking
Although Slaking may not win any beauty contests, this Normal type Pokemon is a powerhouse when it comes to its Stats.
With a base Stats of 670 and an impressive 150 HP, Slaking can take a lot of punishment before fainting. While it may be a bit slow due to its stocky build, its 100 Speed allows it to move faster than Snorlax.
And with the devastating move Giga Impact in its arsenal, any opponent would be wise to think twice before taking it on.
6. Annihilape
Annihilape is an incredibly powerful Fighting/Ghost type Pokemon that can take on and defeat many challengers with ease. I must admit, I usually don’t prioritize Fighting types in my team, but once I learned how to obtain Annihilape, I quickly changed my mind.
Its Rage Fist move increases in power with each hit it takes, up to a maximum of 350 power, and it boasts a 100% accuracy, making it an incredibly lethal move.
While I haven’t covered the basics of Water, Fire, and Grass types, this team is still incredibly strong. However, I wouldn’t recommend using it without any swaps or rotations, as it’s important to switch up your party depending on the challenges you face.
Regardless, this Pokemon team is a force to be reckoned with and will be tough to beat. If you’re striving to be the very best, this team is a great way to get there.
