We’ve been playing Pokemon games on our PC for years, but when we made the switch to Mac, everything changed. IOS is a very different operating system, and almost none of the emulators we used to play those games work on it.
That’s been a bit of a learning curve, but we’re slowly getting the hang of things. Open Emu Rom Hacks are perfect for new Mac users wishing to play those old games they used to play through emulators.
There are still some great Pokemon games out there, and we’re determined to keep playing them even if it means switching back to our old PC from time to time. After all, Pokemon is one of our favorite pastimes! And with new games being released all the time, there’s always something new to catch our attention.
How To Download OpenEmu
Step 1: head to their website and click download.
Step 2: Drag the open Emu download into your Mac applications (could be different depending on the generation of mac you have).
Step 3: Launch the application and select a game from the list (There should be heaps for you to choose from)
How To Play Pokemon ROM Hacks
If you’re a fan of Pokemon ROM hacks, you’re in luck. You can play your favorite hacks on OpenEmu without any complications.
All you need is the ROM file and an IPS patcher like MultiPatch. Neither of these is hard to come by – a simple Google search will do the trick.
Once you have both of these files, open up MultiPatch and select your ROM file. Click “Apply Patch” and select your IPS file. Once the patch is applied, you can now open your game in OpenEmu and start playing. Enjoy!
